ECCA Scholarship Granting Organizations
A Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) is a nonprofit that receives ECCA donations and awards K–12 scholarships to eligible families. The official list of designated SGOs is published by each participating state’s governor and submitted to the U.S. Treasury annually.
Directory coming soon
The federal ECCA program goes live January 1, 2027. States are still in the process of designating their SGO lists. Once an authoritative directory is available, this page will list every designated SGO by state with current contact information.
In the meantime, the most reliable third-party tracker is the Teach Coalition Federal Scholarship Tracker, which monitors state opt-ins and publishes SGO information as it becomes available.
What you can do now
- →Check your state’s status. SGOs can only be designated in states whose governors have opted in. See where every state stands.
- →Learn how SGOs work. Our guide to Scholarship Granting Organizations explains designation, the 90/10 rule, and how donors choose an SGO.
- →If your organization wants to become an SGO, check with your state’s designating authority (typically the governor’s office or state department of revenue) for their application process and timeline.
